Endoscopic sinus surgery is conducted for sinusitis treatment. Sinusitis is an inflammation or swelling of the tissue inside the sinuses. When sinuses get blocked with fluid, germs can grow and cause infection. It may result due to common cold, allergic rhinitis and nasal polyps.

In the Endoscopic sinus surgery, endoscope helps the surgeon to see inside the nose and sinuses with a High Definition camera attached to the endoscope. This surgery removes the whole stumbling block. It also removes the overgrowth of bone or other materials blocking the opening of sinuses. Today, sinusitis surgery is done without nasal packing and only mild pain.

Balloon Sinuplasty is a non surgical treatment for sinusitis. Here patient does not require hospital admission. Here ENT Surgeons widen the narrowed opening and passage of blocked sinuses and wash the sinuses with antibiotic solutions. This treatment is one of the recent addition for the treatment of long term sinuses disease. We performed the 1st Balloon Sinuplasty in Kerala. We also performed the Mesire – Balloon sinus dilation system in Kerala state for the first time.
